I adore J&P clutches.
They bring out new colour and pattern combinations regularly. The new bags seduce me and I have to buy another!
My latest purchase is black and white:
Elizabeth clutch, J&P, £65
Why do I love them so much? Well, they are beautifully made from soft leather, they are roomy enough to carry the essentials of a night out, they come in great colour combinations, they are light and easy to pack in a suitcase or hand luggage. In addition, they are usually reversible, so you get 2 bags for the price of one.
In addition to the clutches, they do various pouches and totes.
Paul Jenkins is from Scotland and Jessica Power is from London. Together they are J&P and they’ve been working together since 2003.
They started work from a tiny flat in Shoreditch, experimenting with various leathers and their unique screenprints. They sold their products at Spitalfields market.
In 2005 they set up a pop-up shop in Brick Lane, and in that same year they featured in Whistles, Urban Outfitters and other London boutiques. It is their bags that are most popular, and these are now available at Top Shop on Oxford Street, plus other Top Shops around the country.
Jenkins and Power are proud to be British. The majority of their goods are manufactured at J&P Mansions in London. Anything not produced there is sourced from British suppliers.
