Weighing half a tonne and measuring 13 feet in height, the red polka dot statue of Yayoi Kusama welcomes you to Selfridges on Oxford Street.
The window displays are dedicated to the collaboration project between Louis Vuitton and Kusama.
Don’t miss the polka dot Concept Store, situated next to the Wonder Bar on the ground floor. It contains everything spotty: clothes, sunglasses, handbags.
This range is the Vuitton’s most significant artist collaboration since it teamed up with Steven Sprouse in 2001. In 2001 it was graffiti bags, in 2012 it is spots. Highlights from the current collection include silk scarves, beautiful handbags, a yellow drop-waisted dress and classic trench coats.
If you want to learn more about Kusama, visit the bookshop in the basement:
Selfridges is a joy at any time, but be sure not to miss this event.
